There's only a limited amount of space on the roof. I have Aircon and therefore not enough space for a solar panel, unless it's a flexible one on the front.
But the dealer should have known and A/S should have commented when they received the order - perhaps they did?

Slightly off topic but what does the media pack give you that you could get from data via a mifi or mobile phone with a hotspot. We use a 10in Galaxy tablet on the dashboard tethered to our mobile phones and get satnav, internet, music, TV and UK radio all over Europe.  Then when parked up we use an Amazon Firestick for TV. Our phones give us 80gb combined every month so we've never run out.  Just an idea.
Rich.

Rich raises a good point....we do have a large 85cm auto dish which works well all over Europe, but we are Sky subscribers and having a spare Sky+ box in the van makes things very easy...
however, sometimes it can be windy and we do revert to Sky Go and data from the phones.
data is getting cheaper so perhaos a good alternative.
the other thing is that, if roof space is tight, would extra solar be a better bet?

I thought that sat dishes were on the way out, we travel all over Europe and watch tv via the internet as we do at home.

its true that, with cheap data, good signal, dongles with apps and even good site wifi, 'internet' tv is certainly a viable choice these days.
...however, asa Sky subscriber and a perfectly usable set of kit, it makes sense for us to make use of it.
for someone kitting out a van today, perhaps the driver is 'what tv do you watch at home' and do you want to replicate it.
Sky subscribers can easily comtinue to watch Sports and Movies all over Europe, so,if thats your 'home' TV diet, a dish might still be an easy way forward...though not particularly cheap for an auto version.
Sky doesnt permit a version of Sky Go on platforms like Amazon Firestick so thats not an option and watching on a tablet isnt for everyone.
for 'home' channels and catchup Firestick (and a VPN network) seems a good option, in lieu of expensive options like Icecrypt boxes which now seem too much hassle?
