Seats - To Flip or not to Flip
I read a review of the 2018 Bourton and it mentioned turning over the bench seats for making up the bed(s) at night time. On our 2016 Broadway we just use the two bench seats in the normal position. Should we be flipping the seats over for sleeping?

It's just to give a smoother bed.

We tried turning the seats over but decided we preferred sleeping on the top side.

We prefer to flip.
When we hired a van the salesman recommend that we flip them and I expect hire vans get used more than most, so if they recommend it, why not?

Leave top side uppermost, just turn them around so the humps are in contact with the side walls for maximum comfort.

Re: Seats - To Flip or not to Flip
Looking at the photos of the 2018 Bourton I suspect the seats cushions are much more contoured than those in our 2014 Broadway. We don' t flip the seats but we do have homemade duvalay type bedding with inbuilt memory foam mattress which flattens out any bumps and prtects the upholstery, should it need it.
We have turned the cushions in previous vans but, again, they had much more obviously contoured edges.

Thanks for all the comments. Seems both options have merits. We have Duvalays so comfort is not really an issue.

I suspect that might be as much to do with keeping their upholstery clean as anything else.

Combination of Paramedic and Daisy Mae!
We put the lumpy bits on the edges but have custom made memory foam toppers that stay permanently on the seats anyway so no flip! We use as a double unless we need a quick getaway then as singles. Also put a 7.5tog duvet over the memory foam toppers if as a double, bed is super soft and comfy!

Could well be but the same applies, if it keeps shape or colour for longer, the extra couple of minutes doesn't matter. It also reminds us to swap from side to side so that my one doesn't take the heavy load all the time.Askit wrote:dbroada wrote:We prefer to flip.

Re: Seats - To Flip or not to Flip
All the years as a tugger I always flipped the seats until I had a Caravan with separate beds.
Moving on to a Motorhome in 2012 my first vans had separate beds so no problem.
Having this year bought a AS Nuevo EK I reverted back to flipping the seats.
I don’t know why (habit I suppose ) as we both have duvalays which of course base is a foam mattress.
One job less next time out before hitting the sack
