Kingham step operating button
Hello colleagues. After being a bit iffy the step operating button is now stuck in and the step operation has ceased. Removed it. The face plate on the plunger says Berger made in Germany. The plunger itself is labelled Arcoelectric made in England. Put a bit of silicon spray on the plunger barrel with some result but my wife says a replacement would probably be better. The step works when I short the disconnected feed wires.
Can a reader suggest a source for the switch - postal service. Thank you.

Thanks Paul for the direction. The Spares dept of AS is worth a perusal. Sourced a switch there for c.£14.
Lots of goodies too for minor mods.
Regards. Ian

I have had this problem and a squirt of Thetford maintenance spray cured it 5 years ago. It seems a shame to replace the switch if not needed.
My personal experience of the AS Parts dept is very good, place an order, pay by plastic and the goods arrive promptly.

Thanks Spospe. If your cure worked for a good length of time then I will take your advice. Is silicon spray similar? Only used the slightest in the push button tube, refixed it to cupboard and the step now operates for the moment.
All advice from the Forum has been appreciated.

Silicon spray will do it, I also spray it on the rubber door seals, stops door sticking.
Under £4 from local Motor Factors, just don't buy blue gloves up from £6 to £18 now.

To be honest, I do not know, Thetford maintenance spray was the nearest thing to hand at the time (I suspect it is silicone, but am not 100% sure). Thetford spray is useful to have to hand for:
a) maintaining a Thetford toilet
b) lubing step switches (and other such devices)
c) rubbing on door, window and skylight seals to stop them sticking.
