Kingham. Electric step
The powered step on our Kingham doesn't extend out fully unless you tug at it whilst pushing the button. It comes out slightly, back in and if you maintain pressure eventually coming out fully. To deal with the fault l need to understand how the step works ie is on a belt and if so it appears to be slipping l guess.
advice on how it operates would be very useful please.

I think you have the Thule step, which sounds like it could be sticking somewhere ? Are the runners possibly dry and filled with road dirt, and could benefit from a clean and lubricant ? Here’s the link to Thule, which will give you a view on how the step functions :

If you have a look back about 2 years you should find a post from me with Exactly the same problem, our step was replaced under warranty and didnt actually need it
By pressing up and down arrows on Sargent panel scroll though options till you get to the step. There will be a number next to it in our case it was about 25 and I altered it to 30 saved it and all has been well since

Unless it's a Project 2000 step, then it could be the gears have gone and its jamming.
