Rear overhang
Anyone had any issues with grounding when boarding ferries due to large rear overhang on 2016 Corinium?
Any comments appreciated.

Depending on tide, it won't like Scottish islands ones. I'd be a lot more worried about loading the overhang

Hi
Welcome to the forum from Bridington, rear air assist might help, it did on my 08 Sigma, inflated air bags up to near max on two occasions to clear ramps on Cal-Mac ferries once on the Connian ferry.
Don't know what your overhang is.?

The mistake you made was to add to another new member intro instead of starting an intro thread of your own so it appears that you were welcoming someone else.
A belated welcome from me.

Re: Rear overhang
No problems usually, however ..late last year on the Bilbao ferry, the swell in the port was so bad that I could not get off-the-peg ferry until they had put down more ramps....under those extreme circumstances.....yes my towbar hit the ramp...no damage caused.

Sorry about that Jim - nothing deliberate, by chance we were probably all busy with something else at the time!

Re: Rear overhang
Had a similar problem when my Legend had to be loaded aboard a recovery vehicle (failed waterpump). Fortunately I had a towbar fitted and the recovery guy had some specially shaped nylon block which allowed the rear end to slide as it was winched aboard with the rear wheels in the air at one point. The recovery involved two different recovery lorries so the van was loaded and unloaded twice like that.
