New Warwick XL
Evening all,
I've got this new Warwick XL and as we don't intend going away anymore this year I decided to winterise it. I found the drain off tap on top off the boiler but underneath there's a grey in-line tap with a picture of a hot water tap on it, what's this for?
Thanks for any help.

It would help if you posted pictures. Should be something in handbook or check back with dealer

Hi, The vans back into storage now but I will take a picture when I go over there.
I did ask some guy in the service dept who said I don't know have a look in the book (some help eh). I did look in the book but couldn't find any reference to it.

Could it be a hot water tank shut off tap, so you can use main tank in cold weather, but not expose hot water tank to freezing ?
Cheers John

Re: New Warwick XL
...but wouldn't a cold tank (and full pipework) be more susceptible to freezing than a hot water tank?
its sometimes reported that folk use their vans in deep winter without any water in the system at all (hot or cold) yet continue to run the heating system as the Combi can run fine dry...and rely on bottled water for drinking, washing up etc.
but ive never heard of folk only using the cold system but not the hot side...on my own van its not possible AFAIK to prevent the hot boiler from filling from the cold side once the water pump is turned on....
this may be different with the switch/valve youve found but ive never heard of anyone doing this, nor does the logic really hold up, IMV.
Interesting though...
