Gas bottle sizes
My duetto gas bottle cupboard is in side my van, there is room and straps for 2 cal. Gas bottles.but I do not have any idea what sizes I need. I have to phone around to get because of where I live, but first need sizes. Thanks a lot. Also no details came with van, what pressure for front and back tyres. Sorry to be a pest, had a puncture AA could not fit my spare that is under van,it seems I need a special tool to get it offf from under van. Can any one tell me what it is called and where to get. Thanks again.

Re: Gas bottle sizes
I recommend you use propane and you can get two 3.9kg bottle in the Duetto locker. You should already have a regulator in the cupboard to connect to them but if it for Butane or other than Calor, it will need to be changed.
The access to wind down the spare is through the rear bumper and the mechanism will probably be seized and the tyre out of date so I suggest you visit a tyre fitters who can drop the wheel, advise on pressures and state of tyre and point you at where to get a tool - there may be one in the van near the Jack but its a long time since we had our Duetto and I cant remember where.

wheel lowering jack
The wheel lowering jack should be with the scissor jack and wheel brace. It is normally stowed folded up and opens to give a 3' long rod with a ~ 7/8" square end and a handle at the other.

It would be pretty easy to fabricate one by welding a square of metal onto a 3' length of 3/8" mild steel rod.

Re: Gas bottle sizes
1) If your Duetto is the turbo model (you don't say), then the front tire pressures are a little higher than the non-turbo version, say 43 psi.
2) If you use butane Calor gas, then you can fit two 4.5 kg bottles in the locker. Butane does give you a useful increase in gas capacity (about 16%) over propane. This assumes that you are not trying to use the gas below about 5 degrees centigrade. I always used butane and once the heater was on to some extent, gassing was never a problem.
