Peugeot AS Broadway

Although caravaners for 40 years this has been our 1st year with our 2016 AS Broadway and we have been delighted .  Except for one thing!
Unlike my car in which the main instruments are backlit, in this Peugeot cab the speedo And the Rev counter are not, and in certain day light conditions I find it almost impossible to read them.
The day and date and the time are brightly lit in orange but the most important instruments are quite difficult to read properly. My eyesight is good it’s just that there is no lighting  in the binacle unless you turn the lights on.
Am I missing anything- is there a switch I haven’t found?

Some have adjustable brightness, TF, but I think that might have come along post 2016. It's an oft complained of issue.
