Leaking roof vent
We bought our Rambler last week and it hadn't rained until yesterday. However now it is raining we have discovered that the roof vent is leaking. Has anyone else had similar trouble and can you advise where/how we can get it fixed.
Thank you

Where is it leaking from? around the edge or is rain coming down though the vent?

Hi Frank
It's coming through the slots in the vent.

The only slots in mine are in the SECONDRY plastic cover, its under the dome, is it possible that yours (if the same) is damaged or even missing?

leaking vent
Hi Bert,
Is this the type of vent if so as modelman says there hould be an outer cover to stop water getting to it.

Re: Leaking roof vent
Hi
Not posted a photo before so hope this works. This is the air vent
And this is the leak
The 'slots' I referred to are round the edge, on all four sides.
Thanks

Re: Leaking roof vent
I suspect that you're going to have to re-seal the vent to the roof.
You need to get up on a ladder and have a look at the condition of the joint between the roof and the vent.
If it looks OK try pouring some water around the joint and see if it comes though.
If it does, it means taking the vent out, cleaning all the old mastic off the roof and vent and then refitting it using new mastic.
It's not as arduous as it sounds
