NC500 restricted travel times
For anyone rushing up to Scotland to do the NC500 there are restricted travel times on certain sections.....
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Travel must be in a clockwise direction now.
More information here.....

Do you think the first link is genuine, Paul?

There is speculation on another website that this originated on the Daily Gael website.

I particularly like the reference to requirements for passport and certification of proper chemical toilet disposal.
No mention of this on Scotland.org or visitscotland.com

The reference to toilet disposal certificate makes it pretty obvious that it's tongue in cheek although the driving clockwise makes a lot of sense to avoid the motorists who don't know how to drive on single track roads but can you imagine the snake of vehicles all following each other nose to tail around the route.
Also those restricted times have to be a wind-up, too early for campers to be on the road or too late to be getting to campsites or trying to find a wild site.
Not knowing anything about the Daily Gael I could easily be taken in , if it had been April 1st, it would have been easier to spot the joke.
This sub-section in the northcoast500 link with specific information and advice for motorhomes is very useful and contains information on toilet waste , where it is available for passing travellers for a fee and where it's available for staying guests only.
