£2 bus fares extended - you can now travel by bus for just £2 until December 2024!

A large number of services are eligible, including many run by Stagecoach - taking you to destinations like Windermere, Grasmere, Kirkby Lonsdale, Hawkshead, Ulverston, Ullswater, Carlisle, Keswick, Cockermouth and so many more.

Simply buy your ticket online or on board, with no discount code needed.

£2 bus fares are now available until December 2024, so there's plenty of time to explore the Lakes for less. Part of the government's Help for Households campaign.

We used that last week when at Bowness, the £2 is for a single fare in one direction. Those with English concession tickets still travel free, including the open top bus which runs every 20 minutes (ish Whistle1

). Welsh and Scottish bus pass owners can get a discount on the hop on-hop off tickets which is reduced to £8 to travel all day. These apply to 4 geographical areas around the Lakes and are good value IMHO.
