Careless travel
Heard yesterday that some old bloke who was already displaying symptoms travelled north from his home in London to escape the virus to Balmoral in Scotchland where he now expects to be treated and used up test kits that are like hens teeth for front line NHS workers. Surely not as this goes against all directives from Boris and co. I don't belieeeeeeeve it!

Unfortunately kaspian, I’ve stopped being surprised by such actions anymore.
Even my own 87 year old mum has been stupid/naive/blinkered (I genuinely don’t know what) to the seriousness despite me constantly trying to get the point across.

But this old bloke has been saving up his pennies and not squandering them on booze and fags, thereby he can now afford to pay for his own doctors to make him better.kaspian wrote:Heard yesterday that some old bloke who was already displaying symptoms travelled north from his home in London to escape the virus to Balmoral in Scotchland where he now expects to be treated and used up test kits that are like hens teeth for front line NHS workers. What no booze or fags ? So effectively a tax Dodger too? Let's home he didn't travel up in a clapped out old motorhome infecting his entourage in the process and giving us law abiding van owners a bad name.!

It's his old mum I'm worried about, if she has it and croaks, it'll just be her four kids and an undertaker at the church followed by a quick dash to the local crem..

If my mum was still with us, her major concern would be getting Easter eggs to her great grandchildren - and I mean that.

Doing the weekly essentials shop for my parents today in Tesco’s (a very interesting 2 hour experience but that is another story) I was chatting to the guy on the checkout.
A grandmother had 4 Easter eggs in her trolley, one for each of her grandchildren. Because of the 3 item rule he had to remove one to the obvious distress of the elderly lady.
Personally if it was me on the checkout I would have just put them all through and told management where to go but this was a young guy just following the rules. Crazy times.

On a day like today with a clear blue sky there is always a crisscross of contrails up above us, none at the moment and very few in recent days.

6 plane inbound to LHR over land is not normal. US does look fairly normal for internal flights.

If anyone is interested in what is happening in the air travel sector a very informative web site is Pprune ( professional pilots rumour network). I believe you can access a large part of it without joining.
One thing is for sure when this is all over air travel is likely to look very different!

At what is usually a very busy time at Edinburgh and Glasgow airports, there is only one single commercial plane over the whole of Scotland just now and that's a DHL (cargo) leaving Aberdeen for East Midlands. Two small private planes and no choppers - there were loads around Aberdeen earlier but they don't seem to fly after dark.
