Symbol Clutch

I have just acquired a Symbol 2.2 HDI first reg Dec 2005. Lovely camper but couple of niggles.
Whistling sound over cab comes and goes.
Clutch pedal has to be raised long way before engaging. Had a similar situation with my 1999 Executive.
