Rambler Overcab Bed Maximum load weight
Hi all
With the 1991 Talbot Rambler that we have just bought is an Owner's manual. It states:
'NOTE: THE MAXIMUM LOADING OF THE OVERCAB BED IS 62 KG: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THIS BE EXCEEDED'
This seems to me to be a small permitted weight for a double bed. I myself weigh more than 62kg so to fit two of us on there would be impossible. Can anyone please give me some reassurance that we will both be able to use this bed without bringing the whole thing crashing down.
Thank you

I think the overcab beds have only ever been meant to be for children. I certainly wouldn't want to be up there.

Hi,
I would be inclined to phone Auto Sleeper service for an answer, possibly this may only be a restriction on the load carried when travelling which could affect stability,
Regards,
Chris V

Re: Rambler Overcab Bed Maximum load weight
I've had a reply from Auto Sleeper today as follows:
"The load weight refers to sleeping. The Rambler top beds were designed for small children to use"
Short term this will be one child on the overcab bed with me and the other child on the singles below. Longer term I need to invest in an awning. Has anyone got any suggestions of decent compatable awnings please?
Thanks you
