Speedo not working
Hello all.
Speedometer stopped working recently on my 1999 Symbol, checked cable by spinning the end bit and the needle on clock moved so I presume this means that the cable is OK so now think its the speedo drive?
Has anyone got any advice or suggestions when coming to change the drive. Is it a gear box out job?
Many thanks in anticipation

Re: Speedo not working
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply. I found the motorhomefact site after doing a general search on line so will give the 2-3 hour short-cut method a go once I've sourced the bit I need. I was dreading a gearbox out job.
Thanks again.

Hi,
Also ensure that you have the scuttle drain mod. In place and ensure that the gearbox oil is not full of water, this can cause the speedo drive cog to overheat and strip,

Thanks Chris - noticed the modification; must have been carried out but one of the previous owners.
