Re-positioning microwave. Empty Re-positioning microwave.

The microwave in our Kemerton XL is installed over the oven and is therefore quite high up. I have wondered about the possibility of repositioning it to the worktop over the fridge. Potentially a safer  lower level.
Has anyone done this modification or has anyone any observations.

My observation is that the loss of worktop space would not be a good trade-off for a lower microwave, but maybe it depends on how much you use the latter.  We hardly use ours.

In our old van (a Swift) the microwave lived in the bottom of the wardrobe and we only took it out when we needed it.

Is that an option? Rather than remounting it permanently somewhere else?

Interesting thoughts, we do use ours more or less daily (when in the van) even if it is only to make the porridge. The loss of worktop is a minor issue but this could be compensated for by adding a flap on the end of the cupboard !?

Note that the worktops are not solid material but a honeycomb internal construction so difficult to fix too.
