Diagnostics confirm that the ecu is at fault. Considering the cost, new or used, has anyone used Crashdata .com to source a new or recon one.

Thanks

Put 'Crashdata' (without the quote symbols) in the search function and there's quite a few reviews and some warnings of what can or can't be done.

I know it doesn't help, but you have my sympathies - those airbag control modules can be ridiculously expensive to replace. On my van you would get no change out of £1k if done with new parts. Whether they are repairable seems to be a bit of a lottery. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Had a home visited engineer( recommended) and isolated the ecu. he will source the cost of a recon one verses the cost of a new item, so will leave it up to him, after agreement. Agree with you Roopert, it's like walking through a minefield, these modern vehicles are so complex, and having spent 50 years in aviation, give me the flying machines any day !! At least their maintenance manuals are readable.

Thanks

I have used Crashdata and found them to be fine. See my post dated 4th April titled Air bag fault which you may find helpful.
