Motorhome Step
Hi,
I have a 2013 Nuevo ES with a noisy creaking step. When I get into or leave the motorhome the step makes a noise. I have looked under the vehicle and see the step is bolted to a square metal frame. This in turn is bolted to the motorhome floor. The step is firmly bolted to the metal frame and no noise comes from it when you stand on the step. However the noise comes from the rear square metal frame where it is connected to the motorhome floor. I have tightened the top bolts but this has not stopped the noise. I do not want to over tighten the bolts as I may damage the floor. Have others had this problem and solved it? How is this square metal bracket fastened to the floor?

Re: Motorhome Step
I would start by simply lubricating the area that is giving you the trouble with an appropriate lube.

Can’t argue with a bit of lube, a long term fix would be to find the squeaky bit dismantle fully or partly and put something in between the to squeezing parts.

I suggest you have the floor in the area of the step check for damp/delamination.

Re: Motorhome Step
It does sound as if it is the floor making the noise. I checked with a moisture meter and there is no indication of damp .I could tighten up the bolts holding the bracket to the floor but do not want to pull them through the wooden floor. Not knowing if the load on the wood is spread by a metal plate.
