Watering my Warwick duo
How best to get water from my roll-along into the water tank? There is no external power supply for a pump...so how do you do yours?
I thought of putting a long 12v extension onto my pump that I drop into the roll-along - but the 12v sockets in the van do not work with the engine ignition turned off.

Are you sure that the 12v sockets in the van don't work, I'm sure they should work off leisure battery which does not need ignition to be on.
I use a long 12v extension lead and a home-made submersible pump/hose to transfer water from my container to on-board tank.

Er ..... I think I may be missing something here but when I bought a Motorhome I dumped the roll-along on the basis that I could drive to the tap or run a hose from the tap to me!
As a result we carry a short 3m length and a longer 10m length when we tow the trailer.
Best regards,

I also carry a 2mtr and a 4mtr hose for filling straight from a tap but sometimes I may not move the van for a couple of days so use a roll-along container (I also carry a waste one so I don't have to drive to the dump point). They store in the washroom whilst driving and I chain them up to the rear step when on site or store them in dome tent.
Ideally I should be able to empty the waste on leaving the site and fill up fresh water as I enter the site but I've noticed that the taps are frequently on the wrong side of the van to be able to follow the one-way road system on many CC and C&CC sites. I think perhaps AS put the fillers on the wrong side as opposed to other MH's.

Re: Watering my Warwick duo
Paul,
I suppose it comes from living on a boat for eight years as we are really mean when it comes to water usage. (When we had visitors on the boat it was a well known fact that if I heard the pump running for more than two minutes I started to grind my teeth!!)
On "Petal" the fresh water lasts a minimum of three days and ditto the waste water tank; and that's when we have access to a tap and a drain. When we are on the move we expect everything (including the toilet) to last for four days.
To minimise the need for showers we use "baby-wipes" and Lidl's best eau-de-cologne; and, as no-one has ever tried to stand up-wind of us, we must be keeping the old BO at bay!
However, I must admit that to achieve the toilet target I spend a few moments studying the horizon every day; but in France it's almost a national pastime on a par with rugby!
Best regards,

We always fill up on the way in then used to top up with a funnel and hose and a 5 litre container. We dont ever move just to get water. Have never had enough room for an aquaroll. (Now we have the stupid Whale thing but thats another story)

Re: Watering my Warwick duo
I have to admit that I've taken the roll along on 3 trips but the one time we left it behind we had to borrow someones - the tap was in a static caravan parts of the site and there was no way to drive to it.
Good idea on the hoses. That's our usual way of watering too.
It sound like rigging a long a long 12v extension to a pump is the best way forward. I was wondering about drilling a hole in the side and fitting an external 12v socket but would prefer no to make more holes in the van than I need.

Re: Watering my Warwick duo
Good Morning All
I have a Warwick Duo and take an Aquaroll with me if we are going to stay on same site for a couple of days without moving, shows etc. I lengthened my pump lead to reach the 12v socket in the lounge area. Because I do not use this often I was thinking of installing a 12v socket outlet behind the lower fridge vent making it easier.
Regards
Colin

watering duo
no space for aquarolls etc...they belong in caravans...we use the shower/ toilet space for storing chairs/ blocks when on move.
to refill tank we bought 5 litre collapsable water containers from poundland....take up no space when empty and 2 0r 3 fills will get you out of trouble till you get to a tap and can use a hose.
they have a built in tap so no need for space greedy funnels.
and they cost £1 !!

This is how I do mine or use a watering can in an emergency, if too far away from the tap.
