How do I get blind flyscreen out
The dog tried to get out and now I have no tension on the flyscreen and it will not go back up, is this a hard job I looked and appears the cupboards have to come out to get the cassette out?

I'd be surprised if you need to remove cupboards, but which window blind are you referring to?

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
Not sure if they are the same as the ones on the Rienza but the inner window frame has to come out. The flyscreen is on the back of the inner window frame. There are four sections of trim on the frame. The mounting screws are behind these. The hardest to get at are at the top under the lockers. I could only get a stubby screwdriver in there and the screws go through to the outer frame.
The tensioner on one of our flyscreens broke its mounting bracket. Be warned there’s a lot of tension in the rollers. It sliced my hand open when I let it slip out of the bracket.

Window on drivers side, the panels that the cassette is stuck to appears to go behind the upper cupboards, v worried to start taking cupboard screws out if there is another way?

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
We had one of the windows re-sealed by a local motorhome repairer because I thought the locker had to come out. He showed me how to get the inner frame off without taking the lockers out. The top of the window frame is behind the underside edge of the locker.
If I am wrong I apologise now but it seems a bad design idea to have to remove lockers to re-seal the widows or repair the blinds.

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
I think i can understand Gus446 problem. If his Kemerton is like other van conversions then the wall coverings (which are fabric covered boards) cover the outside windows, but not like coachbuilts, and the blind cassettes. So cannot say whether the wall boards or the cupboards need to be removed, I haven't looked close enough to tell. Will take a look later.

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
I have had a look at pictures of the interior of a Kemerton and I see they are vastly different to our Rienza as Paul said. It will be interesting to here what the outcome is.
When the bracket broke on ours the blind unwound it’s self with an almighty bang so be careful.

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
I've just been in the van to look and I would not even try to remove a blind myself. Although I can see mounting screws at each side, I can't see how to remove without taking out the wall boards and/or the cupboards. Certainly beyond my capabilities.

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
I’ve looked at the same window on our Kemerton and although not the XL, this part of the Kemerton seems largely common to both versions. Ours was built in 2014 so I would think the following suggestion would be applicable.
The upholstered board that surrounds the window is fixed with screws on the lower edge and a further screw half way up the r/h side. The l/h side is simply held in place by the grey plastic fascia that encloses the seatbelt. As far as I tell, the top edge of the board is simply a push fit behind the base board of the overhead lockers. My supposition is that on the removing the screws already mentioned, you’ll be able to slide the board downwards and remove it, exposing the blind cassette.
I don’t know how the cassette is fixed in place but I can see two screws in each of its side channels.
I stress that this is based on a visual inspection only. I can’t see there’s much that could go wrong were you to try it. Once you remove the board fixings it will soon be apparent whether it is just a push fit behind the lockers. Before removing any screws I suggest you mark the position of the lower corners of the board with tape on the surrounding surface, which will improve your ability to find the screw holes when you come to re-fix it.
It’s not uncommon for these blind cassettes to require attention so I think AS will have considered how to access them without major work. Every window board on our Kemerton has surface fixings and although some would require more work than others to remove (such as the kitchen window board which would involve cutting away worktop sealant), I’d be confident of gaining access.
Let us know how you get on if you decide to pursue it.
Tim

Re: How do I get blind flyscreen out
Sorry it took so long but here is the result of trying to change the net
DONT
Took all screws showing out, then found you could still not pull the board free, found screws holding base of cupboards were screwed through board as well, so removed them, still the board is stuck.
Spent long time working out how to take the cupboards apart, which is major task and means taking out electrics.
Put all the screws back, removed net and using Velcro and new net made a screen that allows me to have the sliding window open and no bugs
What a bad design, they can put it together easy but forgot it may need repair
Oh what fun Lockdown is
