Nuevo 160 bhp nine speed automatic
Some of you will know that I picked my new van up on the 21st may and had a few questions before I collected it.
One was regarding registration and whoever answered was correct, it took exactly five weeks before the the van appeared on the gov data base and the v5 was delivered the following week.
I used the van for about five days before coming home and with only one problem (so far) one of the locks on the underside wet locker refused to budge but was easily fixed with some lubricant.
As for driving the van, brilliant can be used to sum it up, that long drag out of Bristol on the M5 used to mean stopping in the crawler lane in the old van (115BHP) not anymore. the rev counter used to sit at around 2200 rpm at 70 mph on the old van but now it sits at 1500 rpm at 70 mph on the new van the drive is much more relaxed.
After getting home on the Saturday I felt unwell and phoned my gp on the following Monday only to be taken in to the QEH Birmingham where I stayed for another three weeks following a quadruple heart bypass operation from which I am recuperating from home now, I can see the van outside my window and hope to get away around September / October time.
However in this time I had left the EC700 switched on and have at least been able to monitor the batteries (that was another question)with an early morning reading of around 12.6 v rising to 13.6 v all seems to be well, I can not see the rear of the van through the reversing camera and Auto Sleeper are going to have ago at adjusting the camera when I an classed as fit to drive.
Enjoy your summer.
Pete

Re: Nuevo 160 bhp nine speed automatic
If it helps Pete, my brother had an almost identical experience to you, except that his was a triple bypass (also in the QEH).
After a few weeks to recover, he has changed from an idle, bad tempered git to an active and lively bloke again. He says he didn't realise how listless and enervated he felt all the time, until now that his heart is working properly again.
Getting passed fit to drive again may be the problem, but you will know when to ask your GP for the pink chit.
Good luck.

Thanks Gromit, I quite like being a Idle bad tempered git. lol
I have a clinic at six weeks and they said that I may be able to drive after that (depending on recovery) the way I feel now though I would take some convincing lol

Re: Nuevo 160 bhp nine speed automatic
Glad you're on the mend Pete. I hope you're more successful at getting back to driving than a good friend of ours who drives an Autotrail. His licence was revoked at the start of his heart treatment, and although he was passed as fit by his GP within 3 months, the amount of tests etc required by DVLA meant he's only just got his licence back last month, 14 months on.

Thank you everyone.
The cardiologist just said that I would not be able to drive for at least six weeks depending on how my chest bone healed, they didn't say that the dvla had to be informed.

Thank you everyone.
Still feel like I have been hit by a bus at the moment
As the van is under 3500 isn't it classed as a car?
Hope so, so that I can drive after being given the all clear.

Driving after heart bypass
Hi
I had a x 4 heart bypass about 8 years ago reported it to all insurance companies and DVLA but strange none of them were that interested also when I changed insurance I have always told them but not interested,
But my Diebetic condition seems much different my license was changed to a 3 year medical license renewed each 3 years after filling out the forms,
I am not complaining just strange that the heart bypass isn’t ever considered necessary too report,
I was only off driving for 6 weeks and no problems since, hope you are the same

The heart bypass was only took notice of for first few months, they don’t note now. My wife says why should they you got new pipes and some people who don’t know they have blockage get it cheaper

Having read the replies on this I phoned my Autotrail driving friend for clarification.PLOUGHLIN wrote:breakaleg wrote:Thank you everyone.

He told me his condition had caused him to black out, only once and briefly. But his doctor told him DVLA would be informed and his licence revoked. A condition of getting it back would be no more blackouts for six months. During this time Covid hit, DVLA more or less closed down, resulting in his 14 month wait to get back driving.

Re: Nuevo 160 bhp nine speed automatic
visited Hospital last Wednesday and was given permission drive.
So on Sunday I started the nuevo for the first time in Eleven weeks, I was surprised by how sharp the battery was after standing all this time, must be the solar panels and the EC700 working well, no dreaded warning lights came on as we went along and very little rust on the disc breaks.
I did notice that the springs seemed to creak and moan a bit but hopefully that will disappear with use.
Next Milestone is to take the van camping, just somewhere local to see how I get on, I think getting the toilet cassette will be the biggest challenge as the cassette is quite heavy when pulled out of the hole, my wife has offered to do this (it will be her first time in forty + years, she didn't beleive me when I said the most difficult part is holding the sieve as you empty it to get the lumps out) but I can't go away for a while due to appointments.
