water supply to taps not working
has anyone had similar experience?
We have a J reg autosleeper trident . Last time we were out the water pump stopped pulling water . we could hear the pump going but there was no water coming out of the tap, and no air either. Rather than mess about, we bought a new pump with the same psi rating and fitted it. the hose connected below it is now bent into an double curve rather than straight because the connection point on the pump is a bit lower.
Unfortunately there is no water coming out of the tap, but there is air, so the pump is working. We have tightened up the connections as much as they will go. We have filled up the tank; we know its full because there is water coming out of the overflow.
don't know where to go from here; this was supposed to be a simple fix
can anyone help, please?

I think the answer to your problem is in the details you've posted. If there's any kinking to your hoses then the pump is not going to be able to draw water from your tank. Most of the Tridents appear to be fitted with Shurflo Trailking 7's at 16 or 20 psi. The latest ones tend to have different strainer/filter arrangement that could alter the course of the hose run slightly. It sounds like you need to ensure you have a straight run of hose to your pump filter spigot, this might mean cutting off an inch or so but be careful not to cut too much off.
Even with a bit of an airlock it should be pulling water through within a few seconds or so without assistance by sucking on the tap. Try the above and post back if it doesn't work. It's probably best to introduce yourself on the new members section as well.
Regards, Mark.

Re: water supply to taps not working
Thanks, Tattiebogle.
To be fair, the other half did suspect the bend in the hose and will be moving the pump to get rid of the bends (he didn't fit it in the original holes as he though it might not hold fast). Will post again when he's had a chance to get to it.
thanks again
