Ford Duetto Problem
Hello,
We bought our Duetto privately in August and have been away a couple of times and really enjoyed it!
The fuel pump started to play up intermittently on our last trip and we thought it would be a simple matter to get it fixed, how wrong we were. The Lucas Epic pump which was originally fitted is no longer made and can also, no longer be refurbished. We discovered that there had been a Bosch pump that would fit the Duetto but it needed a manual throttle and cable fitting as well. They used to be sold as kits but alas are also, no longer made. Having had the van in three different garages, we finally found a mechanic who had a Bosch pump, cable and throttle from another decommissioned vehicle. We had this fitted this week but discovered when we picked the van up that we had lost a massive amount of power. The mechanic said that the turbo has now gone, yes you've guessed it, they dont make them any more. He suggested we should have a banana engine( non turbo) fitted.
Has anyone else had any of these problems please, and how were they resolved?
We are pretty desperate as we paid 10,000 for the camper and now cant drive it as there are no replacement parts.

Thank you ! Update now is when turning on yesterday after new Bosch pump and cable etc. Not only does it have now power it is belching smoke and the ignition will not turn, off. Even with the key out the engine is running for a couple of minutes. Scary!
