My Topaz on a T4 is £265 the same as my Hampshire, which doesn`t make sense to me,
Would have thought yours would be the same, if over 3500 it would be £165 L

Nobody is going to be able to give you an answer without knowing the date of first registration, because there were some BIG changes and some BIG road tax bills when they started accounting for the emissions as part of the VED. The auto 5-cylinder fared the worst of all the T5s when that happened.
To be sure, you need to go by what the current owner is paying, or do a trial renewal online. If you seem to be getting over £500, then that's almost certainly what you will pay (unless you've made an error putting the vehicle details in).

A list on Parker’s classed it as Band L at over £500

That table is for cars, not Light Goods, this is what you need.

Sorry your post was not very clear to me, when you said you had got it at £500+ I didn`t read it that you meant the tax,

If it's a 2009 registered vehicle then you should not encounter the problem, but just prior to that, VW UK were incorrectly registering some VW T5s - for a period of at least 2 years - as "Diesel Car". It would be worth checking on the V5C to be sure that it is registered as PLG and not "Diesel Car". If it's the former then I don't think it could be possible that you would be paying £555/year. If it's the latter then it's quite possible that you would!
