How fo you adjust the clutch
Hi.
Any idea how you can adjust the clutch cable on my Autosleeper. It is biting just after you lift your foot off the floor at the moment...
Can't seem to find a manual for this and so am a bit lost..
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Graham

The good news is that it should be a cable and not hydraulic. The cable will have a threaded portion where it connects to the clutch arm. That's where you make any adjustment.

A point Graham, It would help if you put the model name in your profile rather than Peugeot. In 2000 it could have been petrol, normal diesel or 2.5TD. The model is also essential if you need any guidance on habitation issues.

Re: How fo you adjust the clutch
Hi,
A rough guide is that the brake and clutch pedals should be the same height from the floor, there is a height measurement for the pedal but I can't remember it now. Adjustment is by winding the threaded adjuster on the cable on the actuator arm visible on the right hand side of the engine, get someone to press the pedal up and down while you watch what moves. The adjuster is the same as a bike brake and has a locknut on it.

Re: How fo you adjust the clutch
I have managed to adjust the clutch. The problem appears to be that the lock nut was not tight, which had allowed the clutch to slowly wind out so that it bit just above the floor.
All better now and the gear change is now fine.
