Toilet fluid bottles
Ok, this is not rocket science but it might be useful to others. We found the "sample" size bottles of green and pink fluid really handy for carrying during short trips away in our MH. Only problem was, they are not indestructible and the seals eventually fail. After trying various ways of improving the seals, with no success whatsoever, I discovered empty mouthwash bottles(the Listerine type although Lidl and Aldi have their own). They come in different sizes, they're light, robust and (most importantly) don't leak.

Just make sure you remember which one goes in the bathroom cabinet, and which go in the motorhome

Re: Toilet fluid bottles
Hi Tony
One of my bottles began to leak, so I removed the shredded cardboard seal completely and did the top up tight. Much to my surprise it seals perfectly well.
Give it a try if you haven't slung them. They are very handy, as you said.

I've two of the 375/400ml bottles that I've had for well over ten years and refill them from large bottles as they fit , both together, in the lidded well under the cassette. They've never leaked , and that's lying on their sides. I'm sure that's what they were designed to do.Gromit wrote:Hi Tony

I believe that when you get a new van/new toilet, they have a small bottle of each in that well. At least our Adria did and so did our Lunar caravan.

That's the ones that started to leak Paul, as Dave said, the seals disintegrated and nothing I tried resolved the problem. I got fed up and slung them (into the recycling after a good wash ). The "replacement" bottles I use are the 500mls ones although I've not tried them in the space under the cassette.

In all the vans I have had, apart from our first secondhand one, we have had those small bottles under the cassette and they were still there unused when we changed vans. Just left them there "just in case".

Re: Toilet fluid bottles
I have left the sample bottle under the cassette for emergency use,i find it to small for any extended time away. What works for me is fairy liquid bottles, decant from larger comercial container and one fits down right hand side of cassette just inside the door another if required fits on top of cassette behind emptying spout, easy get a couple of weeks or more away.Whilst the fairy bottles seem quite sealed, stored this way they are upright anyway.

Re: Toilet fluid bottles
try Lidl or Aldi bio washing pods...no mess, no bottles leaking, prevents/removes Limescale and are £2.50 ish for 20 pods.
just drop one into the cassette after emtying/rinsing.

Re: Toilet fluid bottles
Is that provided by the manufacturer or the dealer? I have never had such provided by A/S.. Did once get them when I bought a portaloo in our camping days.steamdrivenandy wrote:I believe that when you get a new van/new toilet, they have a small bottle of each in that well.
