County Surrey Air Conditioning?
Hi, We have recently purchased an excellent Auto-Sleeper County Surrey Four Berth including a Double Bed above the cab. It looks like it may get quite hot in there in warm countries and we are looking at add an Air Conditioning Unit as we had in our previous Frankia.
Looking at the Roof Space there is not a great deal of room for Roof Mounted and because of the limited Storage space in the Van and underfloor system would also be difficult.
Does anybody have any recommendations?
Many thanks
Gary

Hi there,
Electrolux do AC units like this one that may fit into a standard roof-light:

Personally, rather than spend that amount of money, I would sooner get a beer out of the fridge and move outside into the shade!
Best regards,

Its to ensure the kids can sleep in countries like Croatia (40 d) in the tight space over the cab where the heat collects....

Hi Gary...
Probably not what you're looking for, but certainly cheaper and may be an option for you or anyone else reading?
I found this http://www.coolmycamper.com/

Looked at that and at first thought it was an option before thinking in through....
Window needs to be left open a bit and no screen or more importantly mosquito screen can be used on that window.
Plus its bulky and needs to be stored and the Country Surrey does not do storage space :-)
What I want is a cheapish but effective low input roof system to replace either the dormer window or kitchen window.

What kind of parents are you????????
My advice is to let the kids sleep down below in the cool, spend the money on beer and then, when suitably inebriated, get up top yourselves to sweat it off!!!
Best regards,

Re: County Surrey Air Conditioning?
Bed far to small for us and they go to bed way before us so not really an option in a Surrey!
We have not even used the Van yet so have no idea how hot it will be but all our previous Vans' have had AC and it really makes for a safe cool sleeping environment.
The question was about AC Systems not how to use our Van.....

Hi Gary... understand what you are saying about the cooler, just thought I'd mention it in case you wasn't aware of it... have you contacted Auto-Sleeper to see what options they can come up with? Would have thought they offer AC as an add on option from new so might just be worth inquiring to get an idea of cost? AutoSleepers service centre Tel 01386 853338
