New Van, Al-Ko Air Suspension
We picked up a new Warwick Duo, 8 weeks ago from Perthshire Caravans and on getting it home we discovered that it was missing the control panel in the stepwell for the air suspension (amongst many other snags). The dealer has still not sourced the parts and so I have suggested they take the panel of one of their unsold vans to fix ours however they are telling me this is a very big job so they cannot do it but it looks pretty straightforward to me. Does anyone have any experience of this or tips on how to source the panel ourselves?
Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex
Welcome to the forum from sunny Bridlington, replacing the Alko air top twin valves and gauges shouldn't be a hard fix, The dealership should manage it fine.
We love our 16 reg, hope you have lots of holidays in it.

Silly question, but are the air bags even fitted?
I removed my gauges from the step well and fitted a compressor so I can adjust on the fly, you might want to do the same?

Is it an Autosleepers issue or a Peugeot issue (I've no idea if Autosleepers fit this supsension or if it's a Peugeot standard part)?
Might be worth the price of a call to your local Peugeot dealer to discuss it with them.

We have a Duo with the control panel and two pressure gauges fitted in the passenger footwell. If you have the control panel missing what is stopping the air escaping from the system? How do you measure the pressure? How do you pump up the air bags? This sounds very odd, am I missing something here?

Without the panel the suspension does not work.

If this is the case then you have a van which has not been finished, it is incomplete. This sounds like a very poor job on the part of AS and it makes me wonder about quality control at the factory.
It is interesting to read that someone else seems to be having a quality issue, in that the door restrictors seem to be missing from their 'van. I wonder if the two issues could be related?

No, they aren't.Spospe wrote:If this is the case then you have a van which has not been finished, it is incomplete. This sounds like a very poor job on the part of AS and it makes me wonder about quality control at the factory.

There is one issue with door restrictors missing, and one issue where the gauges are missing, but we don't know how or why. I would prefer to find out first exactly how this has happened; while it does appear strange, in no way does it suggest even for one second that AS are falling apart.

Are the air bags likely to get damaged if used with no air in them?
Are the screw holes, or hose-holes visible in the footwell? I'm wondering if gauges were originally fitted, then removed (in order to fix someone elses van!)
