Picked up new van
So picked up Warwick XL from Moran Motorhomes ( review to be left ) .
Decided to take to local site to check out over the weekend. Opened back door with no more than a gentle breeze and the back door swung open and ........bang there goes the glass. Had the van less than 3 hours and this happens. There are no door restraints fitted to this so the doors open right out with about 15mm clearance from hitting the rear corner of the van. Someone ....dealer ....Peugeout ..... A/S will be getting a bo¥#*[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Monday.

Re: Picked up new van
I think it's spelt " bollocks".
feel your pain and frustration, someone has got to put that right quickly.
all commercial vans have rear door stays that work to hold the doors at 90degs, then it's up to you to open them 180 degs.
very very frustrating .

Re: Picked up new van
That is awful, I can’t imagine how you must have felt so soon after picking up the van.
I seem to recall this happening to another new van on here recently which got me worrying about my own van.
So are your door restraints missing the retaining bar which connects to the door (released by a button) or are you saying that there is no mechanism at all fitted?

No restraints fitted at all , door opens 180° with about 15mm clearance from the corner of the van. Gently applying pressure to the door I can get the glass to touch the back of the van.
Don't know wether it's down to A/S or Peugeout

A/S I would have thought / dealer.
if they had changed van spec from standard they should have highlighted it to you in a big way.
ask the question on here to all Warwick XL owners.
" does your standard spec XL have rear door stays" ???
our 2014 XL has.
and they hold the doors very well until you want " to go further" !!!!

Re: Picked up new van
My Duo certainly has the rear door stays.
It’s my belief that AS remove the rear doors when fitting out the van and then replace them later. If I’m right, you can draw your own conclusions.

My 2018 Symbol also has them, thought these must be standard Peugoet kit??
I’m shocked if they are not.

May be worth starting a new thread Mark with a title that captures the people who can answer your question.

Re: Picked up new van
My 2016 WXL had them, but my new 2019 WXL does not and due to me fitting a bike rack I have now fitted the door stop and button, luckily AS left the hole in the rear door panel for the button and just left the fabric covering the hole. Not happy about spending the money doing it but it had to be done.
Not sure by leaving them off is breaking Type Approval as they could swing out into traffic, cyclist or pedestrian etc.
