20 minute radio
Does anyone have an update on this problem? Our euro6 Warwick XL audio turns off after 20 mins. During the demonstration no one told us that the system switches off after so short a time. With speakers factory installed at the back, that is ti say the leisure area, it would be reasonable to assume they could be used without getting up and resetting every 20 mins, missing parts of any broadcast in the process. Personally we feel that this is misrepresentation and renders the system unfit for purpose in what is sold as a leisure vehicle.
Surely the audio system would be more sensibly wired to the leisure battery.
Has anyone managed to resolve this either with a dealer or with Autosleeper? Clearly many of us have the same problem and it would be a good opportunity for Autosleeper to solve the issue.

Re: 20 minute radio
I don't know about the Boxer specifically, but the main issue with modern vans in general is that the radio is integrated with the vehicle body control systems.
So whereas in the "good old days" they were switched on and off by separate wires, they now simply have a permanently-on 12 volt supply and a connection to the CAN network. When you turn off the ignition, one of the vehicle control modules sends a message over the CAN network telling the radio that's what has happened, and the radio starts an internal 20 minute timer, after which it turns off.
So there is no longer an easy way to wire up a separate supply to the radio (which is what A/S used to do) - there is no ignition-switched terminal on the back of the radio to connect it to.
In theory, the easiest way to solve the problem would be to re-code the radio to change the 20 minute timer - and this can be done on some other vehicles - but sadly it seems that Peugeot do not document such a change, so it may not even be possible.
So... the next simplest solution is to replace the factory radio with an after-market one, which will typically need to be provided with both a permanently-on and an ignition-switched 12V supply - not hard to do, though.

The sound from the rear speakers is rather poor anyway, we use a pair of bluetooth speakers connected to my phone and the sound is great.

Re: 20 minute radio
In the latest issue of MMM magazine the same question was asked as Halfords had told the enquirer that there was no harm in leaving the ignition switched on (without engine running) for a couple of hours. The very respected Clive Mott agreed. "Many years back before we had electronics in vehicles and just a spark coil and a set of points, it was possible to fry the spark coil if the engine was stopped with the points closed. But not today, so technically the advise was correct, you should not cause any damage. But you will discharge your starter battery if it's done for a prolonged time". He does go on to say it would be best to power the radio from the leisure battery and suggests you get a professional to do it.

That’s what I also do but just a single speaker, as you say sound is great and the speaker can be positioned outside if you are enjoying the sunshine without having to turn up the volume in the van.
I tend to listen to internet radio more and more these days for the choice of stations although that obviously relies on a reasonable mobile signal.

Understand that you can change the duration using the menu buttons.

With AS buying so many vans from Peugeot, you would expect them to be able to lobby Peugeot to fix this.

Re: 20 minute radio
Maybe not enough of us have complained to AS about this issue?
I know I haven't...
There was a guy on here that posted a "hack" that he'd performed in order to override this 20min setting and I must admit it was way over my head. I suggested he could make a few quid by modding peoples radio for them.
I'd certainly pay a few quid for it!
My workaround was to fit an Amazon Echo instead
Which works that well that I've since removed the DAB radio!

Re: 20 minute radio
Just had my radio playing time extended to three hours at Mercedes Dealer in Sheffield, he said only a five minute job.

Re: 20 minute radio
I contacted Peugeot a few days ago and asked how to extend the radio play time.
The reply was as follows -
"Thanks for contacting Peugeot customer care about how to cancel your automatic radio shutdown.
I'd recommend contacting your nearest approved dealership as our technical specialist would be best placed to advise if this is an issue.
You can find your nearest approved dealership, by clicking [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Apologies that I'd be unable to help you with this query, however I'm more than happy to answer any other questions you might have."
I’ll try it but I hold out no great hopes.
