Grand Tour Empty Grand Tour

Post by theglove78 Wed Apr 10, 2019 6:43 am

My partner & I have spent the week stocking and cleaning our newly acquired Autosleeper Amethyst.

Considering its a P Reg, surprised just how clean she is.

The Grand Tour is planned for Saturday as we depart from sunny Heysham to Beacn Fell View (outside of Preston  hugegrins).  Whopping 30 miles away!

Not far but stretches its legs and allows us to test hook up and gas applicance etc.  Looking forward to it!!!

Enjoy your trip. If you fancy eating out the Dog Inn in Longridge is not far from the site and has good food and great views over the Ribble Valley. Longridge also has a few micro breweries if you are interested in that sort of thing.  Ribchester is also only a few minutes away and has some Roman remains and a small but interesting museum.

Fell View Park site near Scorton and Horns Dam near Chipping/Inglewhite both recommended.

On the subject of Ribchester there is a smashing (smallish) site there with a bus stop outside, hard standings, leccy etc  ASOC have had rallies there

I'll get a few pics and try and put a bit of a review in this forum somewhere.

Go one better. Keep a daily diary of your travels in your new van. You can do it on paper or via an electronic blog open only to those you invite or, if you wish, to anyone who googles it.

I’ve done this since our first tent and it gives me a great deal of pleasure to read those battered notebooks or the blog and remember our adventures. Using Blogger is incredibly easy and means you do get to look at all the millions of photos you take.

Have a great trip.
