Annoying beep on 2011 Cotswold FB
Any thoughts on my problem ?
I have a 2011 Cotswold FB and ever since I have owned it (3 months ) there is an alarm sounding when driving. It is a beep that lasts for about two seconds and literally sounds like beeeeeeeep.
The location of the sound is from below the steering wheel and above the pedals. I seem to think that the beep is when I have driven over a bump in the road.
It is intermittent and there are no lights on the dashboard to accompany the beep.
Any ideas ?

Could be the step alarm, bad connection?

Same thought, the step is possibly just holding the detection switch in and moves out a bit when hit a bump. When it occurs find a place to safely stop, leave the engine running and push the step firmly in with your foot to see if the beep stops.

I was not aware that the step had an alarm. The step shoots away pretty sharpish if it is out when the engine is started, however, I will investigate the step and step alarm tomorrow.
I don’t think the door nor the handbrake is the cause of the beep but thank you to the forum member for his suggestion.
If anybody can think of anything else then all suggestiins will be gratefully received.

A quick update.
I am still unable to locate the source of the beep. It could be from the step but I have decided to book it in with the dealer before my warranty expires and ask that they sort it out.
Thank you to the members who offered suggestions.

Possibly the speed alarm ( in the dashboard menu). You can set that at a variety of speeds and it might be set quite low.

That may well be the cause especially if you have acquired a 'used van' where the previous owner had personal settings on the menu. We discovered same on our van.inspiredron wrote:Possibly the speed alarm ( in the dashboard menu). You can set that at a variety of speeds and it might be set quite low.

Re: Annoying beep on 2011 Cotswold FB
I can finally return to the forum with a conclusion to this thread.
I returned my Cotswold back to the dealer for them to locate the source of the annoying beep, it took them a while but they have just confirmed that it was indeed the habitation door step that was causing the beep.
So they have ordered a replacement step assembly, fortunately this will be covered by the warranty.
They did thank me for the suggestion from you guys that the step may have been the culprit, so thank you to those of you for that diagnosis.
