Water pump failure
I think my water pump may have failed. It's making a constant slightly high pitched tone. Not the usual pumping sound. Tank is full, I've run through pressure check, checked fuse. Nothing coming out of any tap/shower. I'm full timing so this is bad news. Handbook says pump is inside water tank!!!! That's accessible then, not. Any ideas please as I'm getting a bit smelly

See thread linked above. It sounds as though you have an air lock. A friend who has your system just keeps switching the pump on and off with a tap open till it clears the lock.

Re: Water pump failure
Hi Peter, U could well be right. I've been playing with the pressure adjustment and running taps on and off and some water is coming through. Fingers crossed. Thanks for swift response

Re: Water pump failure
Oddly enough I had the same problem this afternoon after filling fresh tank (it had been drained ).I thought it might be air so sucked on the kitchen tap and water started to flow straight away. Just read the link peter mentioned and see its been done before.Hope your sorted by now.

Re: Water pump failure
Hi kdc. Think ive sorted it now. Spoke to my mate this pm and he said he likes to keep a minimum of 50% in his fresh tank. Mine had dropped below 25% which I think caused the problems. Not always easy for me to get water as I'm off grid full timing most of the time. All good experience and knowledge for the future

Re: Water pump failure
Not quite the same problem, but for future advice, the pump (which was working) came detached from the pipe inside the underslung cold water tank on our Bourton. We had to return it to Marquis for them to fix it. They undid the large screw bung (or whatever it is called) and got at it that way. Someone at A/S not tightening it enough perhaps? All seems fine at the moment. Angela (Jimmee). .
