Electrolux 3 way fridge
Has anyone any experience on the affects of leaving the above mentioned fridge upside down for a short period of five to ten minuets before reinstalling. I would prefer information based on practical experience. Iv'e heard good and bad results and understand it may cause failure due to sediment being disturbed, or to working more efficiently by moving the ammonia. I recently cleaned the jet, burner, flame sensor and igniter. As these units cannot be reached through the lower vent on the outside of the van the fridge had to be removed to carry out the work. The fridge is around twenty years old and is now working well and ignites on gas with no more than 3 sparks or ticks.

Personal opinion (having just done the same as you with the Dometic fridge in the Trooper): if it's working, do nothing more to it. If it doesn't actually need tipping upside down then don't.
As a matter of interest, how badly blocked was the jet/mixer tube on yours? Ours (13 years old) had a mixer tube that was around half full of rust flakes!

Use to do this regularly on a fridge in our old caravan, did keep it working, then changed caravan.
We were told to do this by caravan workshop.

I've done it several times over a number of years on caravans when we had them. Always worked for me.

But the OP says it is working well.
Why try to fix something which is not broken?

Sorry I read it too fast and missed the fact it was working. I agree, I'd leave alone if working.

Yes, the fridge was not working to well on gas which as it turned out was down to small bit of soot from the flue and as I said is now back in and working well. The burner, jet and flame detector were all replaced about 3 and a 1/2 years ago so just needed a clean. I won’t be turning it upside down....hopefully. I just wanted to know if anyone had done it and what the results were. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Electrolux 3 way fridge
Yes I've done this with the fridge on a van we owned while touring NZ. It was struggling to work on either gas or electric, and when I mentioned it to a kiwi camper he told me to take it out, turn it upside down and rattle all the pipes with a piece of wood like playing a xylophone, then leave it upside down overnight.
Nothing to lose by trying, so I followed his advice.
Next morning I reinstalled it, left it a few hours to settle down, then switched it on. It worked fine for the remainder of our trip.
