12v sockets 2003 Symbol

Hi - Sorry if this has been asked before but as a new first time owner ...

My van has 240v 3 pin sockets that I presume only work when plugged into the mains.

I also have 12v sockets with two flat pins that I assume run off the leisure battery?

Re the 12v sockets I presume I could buy an adaptor but would rather remove these and replace with USB. The present sockets are the square household size. Can I buy a square 12v input - one or two USB outputs to replace these? (I’ve seen lots of cigaret type of adaptors but again would rather avoid these.

I've never seen the sort of 12V square socket USB connector you describe but if all else fails you could use whichever one of these matches your flat pin sockets:

Oh, and you're correct - the 240V sockets will only work when the van is plugged into 240 V EHU (Electrical Hook Up) or a generator.
