Duetto pin striping
The pin striping on my Duetto has weathered and mostly broken up. Wondered if anyone knows of a source that could supply identical or as close as possible to original? The green band is painted on so that's fine...the pin striping then placed on top. The upper and lower stripes are red 'sandwiched' by gold. The centre striping being white.
Also, what is the best/safest method of removing the old pin striping?

Search eBay for 'pinstriping' and you'll find hundreds.
Some time last year someone auctioned off on eBay a load of AS pinstripe tape. I tried and failed to buy it all..

Yes i've looked on ebay but the closest match i found up to now was in China. Pity about losing out on the AS pinstripe tapes....wonder if the seller was someone from AS? How much did they go for?Paulmold wrote:Search eBay for 'pinstriping' and you'll find hundreds.

Can't remember the final price but there was well over 50 rolls of various thickness and colours.Bulletguy wrote:Yes i've looked on ebay but the closest match i found up to now was in China. Blimey! I imagine it went for a good price then if an AS owner got it on the final bid.Paulmold wrote:Can't remember the final price but there was well over 50 rolls of various thickness and colours.Bulletguy wrote:Yes i've looked on ebay but the closest match i found up to now was in China. Another thing which is very difficult to get hold of is upholstery cloth which looks identical in each model Duetto.....except it isn't! I'd owned mine for 6 months or so before a fellow Duetto owner spotted a very slight difference between his and mine. The patterning was similar but not the shades. This was further confirmed by Alan at AS who told me they bought upholstery by the roll and it often varied. He had just 2 mtrs left of my cloth so i bought it...just in case of some disaster!

Any graphics firm could make your stripes, taking a pattern off the originals. I am having a few replaced on my Topaz.
Stripes can be removed by a hair dryer, nit by bit then cleaned up .

Yes i had a look on Google and surprisingly it's quite limited in my locality but found this place which looks promising. Intend to run the van round so they can give me a quote but if it's 'silly money', i won't bother. They are a bit tatty though and as i'm having a few bits of cosmetic paintwork attended to next year, felt new pinstriping would finish it off.daisy mae wrote:Any graphics firm could make your stripes, taking a pattern off the originals.
