But Roger, it's the future!

I confess that I've been put off watching Formula E by the silly sound effects (not from the cars, but from the TV studio) and stupid features like "Fan boost" - which is essentially turning the race into a popularity contest. Unfortunately some of that is filtering back into Formula 1, where we seem to be getting silly sound effects too!

They have also added the power boost this year, to desperately try to add some interest. The cars drive off line on a corner through a marked area to gain 12% more power for 4 minutes. They usually lose a place or two whilst doing that, then spend the next 4 minutes trying to gain back the places that they just lost  shrugg

I've quite enjoyed formula E this season (when I remember to watch it) now they don't have to change cars half way through. I did really admire the way Sam Bird punctured the leaders tyre on the penultimate lap so he could win AND got away with it!

I enjoyed that round too Peter. The only thing I hate is the sound they make, a cross between my sister's electric sewing machine and a washing machine going on to full spin.

I love F1, and its evolutions, not that I think Hybrid was the way to go
However, you'd have to pay me a large hourly rate to even thing about watching Formula E!!!!

Yes an exciting race. Great for Hammy with a bad start, poor tyre choice but was always going to be second.
Particularly when he forced Vettel to make a mistake!

Agreed, best race for a long time  smile! Nice to see Hamilton very gracious over the final result and a great disappointment for a certain young driver. I enjoyed watching Vetel make a self inflicted mistake and all bodes well for the coming season.
