Bed Slats
Hi Everyone
Please no rude comments!!! The bed slats on our Gloucester have come out of there fixings at the feet end where I climb over it. Has anyone had the same problem and a solution to fix it. The service centre say screw the bed slats to the plastic fitting but every thing is quite thin
kind regards
Alan

Re: Bed Slats
I had a problem with some of the slats coming out of the plastic ends. It was caused by the fixed cross bar between the wood sides coming unstuck, its dowelled, allowing the sides to spread apart. a quick fix, which is becoming permanent as the problem has not returned, was to insert a wood block between the bathroom wall and wood bed side.
ps How is access to your toilet pump coming on?

I would glue them in with Sikaflex. The thin material wouldn't be an issue then, and once Sikaflexed they are not going anywhere.
Hope this is useful.

Re: Bed Slats
Hi Everyone
Thank you for you comments and help, on further investigation I found nothing had broken ,just as mentioned the cross member had become unstuck. I had decided to add a couple of extra cross members as this will stop the sides splaying out. I do not think it is a good idea to glue the slats as they should be able to flex.
regards

Re: Bed Slats
I took you to mean the ends had come out, as did Peter. Gluing the ends back in wouldn't cause any problem.
You obviously meant something else by, ". . . come out of their fixings" which I didn't understand.
