duetto water problem
Apologies if this has been asked before.
water system drained from trip 6 weeks ago, refilled yesterday, when pump is switched on, after small amount through taps, water is escaping through the breathers on freshwater tank, any ideas would be greatly appreciated, supposed to be away this weekend. Pump is a shurflo trail king.
thanks
steve

When you refitted the drain plug on the boiler, was the rubber O ring still on it. Did you close the breather valve on the boiler?
Water can't be coming through the breather holes on the top of the freshwater tank unless it is overfull. Is there a leak from the pipe that connects the fresh water tank to the pump?

Have bypassed the freshwater hose, and found that the water is now leaking from the boiler casing, could it be a leak on the hose to the boiler, have bypassed this to get water to taps and there are now no leaks. Anyone know how to get to the hoses to the boiler?

Re: duetto water problem
I guess if it's the original water heater it must be a Carver Cascade?
If you suspect a leak in the hoses close to the body of the heater then the easiest way to examine that area is to slide the heater out from the side of the van. I don't know the layout on a Duetto specifically, but generally A/S fit enough slack on all the fittings for it to slide out a little way so that you can access the hoses.
IIRC, on mine, the only thing inside the van holding it in place was a velcro strap around the insulation "block"!

Thanks for all your input, have found the heater underneath the seating, and cold water hose is where it was leaking from, the plastic connection at the bottom right hand corner has sheared.I think its probably out of my skill range!!!, but I can now tell the engineer who does the habitation check the problem and it will save him some time.

Re: duetto water problem
When you get someone to repair it,ask them to change all the plastic bits. Inlet spigot, outlet spigot, pressure relief valve and drain plug.
They get brittle with age and crack or shear off. Best to have them all replaced at once rather than waiting for the next one to fail.

IIRC Thanks Frank. That mojo fella is a bit of a joker, is he not. But I suppose I was a bit like that when only 18 years old. Perhaps one day he might even reveal the secret of his ageless existence. Keith

Re: duetto water problem
I should point out (because several people have commented on it) that the "age" entry came about because at one stage, several years ago, the forum would not allow you to update ~any~ of your profile details (such as the model of vehicle you have) without entering a Date of Birth. DOB is used by banks and other organisations to secure your account, so I never enter it on any system where it's likely to be compromised.
As a minor protest at that I entered a random DOB - and that's how it came to be what it is. If I check my profile now, the system has since changed and I can no longer edit the entry, as far as I can see.
I should add that I don't mind it being what it currently is - I don't think anyone should be judged on their age, whether real or invented.

Yep - a series of changes to the forum config that didn't make much sense, but it doesn't worry me - it's not my problem!
