We had a wee weather window at 5 a.m, enough to get Tag out.
Been pouring down on and off all morning, hundred claps , gales force winds.

After 9 weeks of mostly glorious summer weather, I hear we have a tropical cyclone bearing down on us later this week..

I thought he weather had past its worst yesterday morning when I took muttly out. The wind was quite warm if a little gusty. A couple of TV aireals down and a couple of broken slates on the path. Yesterday tea time it came back with thunder and lighting and heavy rain.
Still a bit breezy here but we seem to have missed the worst. With weather coming from the SW the wolds shelter this area a little. The NW were I was brought up has coped it again sadly.
Glad its this weekend because we are off to Norfolk for my birthday next weekend if the Rienza is back as promised.

After a really good battering from Ciara, we've now got snow. Not settling as everywhere very wet.

Lovely bright and clear day here . . . . briefly!

Those conditions started five minutes ago, and already another massive storm cloud approaching fast!! No snow, just heavy rain most of the day so far.

Proper snow here, large flakes and lots of 'em. Can still see tops of grass on the lawn, so about an inch laying.

No, but I guess they might be beside our plastic cloches which have disappeared from our garden.

Just got heavy snow, with high winds, thunder and lightning. We've got the roads running like rivers, aided and abetted by the numerous drains which are blocked with debris. In the old days we used to get roads and drainage channels swept every now and then, if they did it now it would certainly make a big difference when we get this kind of weather.

So, you get a weather warning of high winds and heavy snow at altitude, what do you do? Set off to walk up Britains highest mountain?

Mountain rescue had to evacuate 4 people from near the summit of Ben Nevis, they apparently had no maps, no ice axes and three were wearing trainers  uncertain

I've never supported folk having to pay when mountain rescue are called out but this kind of stupidity has made me rethink my position.

Not a Monro bagger then Tony ?  Seriously though, putting other people's lives at risk ( usually volunteers) to pursue one pleasure beats me, especially if their not prepared for such pursuits.
Still breezy here, clear skies and chilly.

Never been one for "collecting" hills but I was into hill walking until the knees gave out. Still perishing here with frequent snow showers.

Today's weather forecast was somewhat off the mark. We were promised a cold, but bright, dry day. What we've got is the streetlights on at midday because it's so dark and a nice mixture of snow and hail falling.

I may go back to bed  biggrin

Beautiful sunny day with a light breeze here in the East Neuk.
I'm just about to hang a washing out in the garden.
