Not all sweetness and light here in sunny Spain either.

The sun is shining and it is very mild but we have had, and still have, extremely strong winds. Last night was worse than many nights we have had in the Bay of Biscay and today we are wondering how much more our little tent can take. We can’t open any windows and the door mechanism broke 3 days ago making getting out or in a military planning op. It is getting distinctly warm in here !

Not complaining though but wish it would stop.

Hi Bob,

Had zero snow here until 1.00am, leaving about 25cms this morning. Sun came out and all melted again now. For the last week we have been visiting clients over most of East Anglia with no problems at all.

Minus 5 degrees in the back garden, black ice on all roads and paths, everything's frozen.
Wearing ice crips on my boots this morning ( big Jessie) unable to get outside the garden otherwise.
Stay safe and warm everyone.

cold I don't rembered weather warnings in the sixties when I walked six miles in the snow to school to be told the buses are not running go home. This happened twice, I hated that school for many reasons this being only one.
Since I retired I can say weather warnings now mean a day indoors. That's progress, staying warm and dry is a great improvement on getting cold and wet at the roadside for 22 years that was part of the job.
If away in the van I do check the BBC  weather to help decide if it's worth going out or put the kettle back on.

Pretty much the same up here Boaby, it was a record breaking 18.3c in Aberdeen a few days ago. Not everybody is happy though, the ski resorts are having a hard time  shrugg

As Dave said, It was hard to get accurate local weather forecasts in the 60s. It didn’t bother me much until I started hill walking in the late 60s, early 70s and I became a bit obsessional about it, especially after getting caught a couple of times in “whiteout” conditions. I learned two things, (1) to check the weather predictions for the area and (2) I don’t like hillwalking in snow.

My son is currently over in Fraserburgh and has had a couple of BBQ's already (AAngus steaks), as you say Tony , mini heat wave up the North East  lovely part of the world.
Are you a Munro bagger then Tony, when the In-laws lived in killin back in the 80's our weekend walk was up to the Ben Lawyers car park and down to the Bridge of Balgie.
Local forecasts are always wrong here on the coast, fog clearing now.

No, never got interested in doing it to tick the hills off a list but I understand why folk do. I've hit a few peaks over the years but I'm just as happy with low level walking (just as well as that's about all I can manage now  snigger )

My knees are cream cracked ,one replaced with a S/steel lump the other with segments,so my bagging days are well over Tony.
I walk oor dug Tag each morning down to the beach and back before dawn to avoid the off lead dogs.
Then back for a bowl of porridge .

We had a beautiful day yesterday on West Wales coast, sitting outside the van enjoying the sunshine. Bit different today, dry but dull this morning so went dolphin watching in New Quay but that was all we did - watched. This afternoon though the rain is coming down and rather misty.

Having finished the spring cleaning of the Rienza we are going to make the most of this unseasonal weather and have a day in one of our favourite sea sides, Filey ,tomorrow. Not having to be home until Monday some time for management to go to work  Tuesday we are going to stay overnight in Hemswell.
We have known it to snow at Easter so I am not trusting this weather not to change just yet.

Filey will be busy today, we went last Sunday in the Warwick and it was packed, site wasn't to busy, however the weather has been good, so will attract the visitors.
Have a nice time in Filey Dave,  up!

Filey was lovely on Sunday. We managed to squeeze into the car park near the golf coarse next to a couple of horse boxes. Car parks are still free until next month I think.
Nice walk along the prom with slight mist out to sea. The beach was full of  kids and lots of dogs for muttley to socialise with. Nice lunch at the cobble and a wander back through the town.
This morning Helmsley was covered in mist when I walked into town for the bacon butties. We drove back as far as Malton in thick mist following a nutter with no lights on. Once we climbed onto the Wolds it was a bright  sunny drive all the way home. Stopped for lunch at the Humber Bridge with the door open.
Unfortunately management will be in work for the next three days or we would be still out on the road.

Yep, all change up here as well. The football was abandoned at Kilmarnock last night because of fog. Dull and cool today (and that’s just me snigger )

Just got back from 4 nights in Cardiff. Temperatures were well up with sunshine blazing through the windscreen from 7 a.m. The parks were absolutely rammed with folk enjoying themselves (luckily it's been half-term week in Wales).
Never seen so many people sunbathing and picnicking in the parks in February and some lads were even shirtless in Bute Park and threatening to jump in the Taff to cool off.
Back to normal today though, poured down all the way home.

We got battered by high gusts of wind last night and the noise made sleeping difficult. Looks like the winds will be even stronger tonight rolleyes Our plans for a long weekend trip away this starting Thursday or Friday may have to be postponed as it seems there is even more stormy weather on the way.

I know the weather is a fact of nature we can do nothing about but I spend a lot of pre trip time watching the forecast. I am away this weekend intending to do some walking . The direction of the wind will depend on our drirection of walk. Bus out walk back or walk out and bus back . We will be on the N/W coast at the end of the month.
Being from the Manchester area we are aware of the N/W reputation for cold and wet weather so we are hoping it calms down a bit by then. The Rienza did a bit of rocking and rolling in Norfolk earlier this year, even with the legs down.
