2003 symbol. Water pump
does anyone know if there is an in-line filter in the symbol water system and if so where is it please.

It will almost certainly be upstream and immediately adjacent to the pump.

I sold my 2002 Symbol last year so I can't confirm but I think the pump (shurflo) is behind the flap under the cooker. I suggest looking for any filter there.

I remember on my 97 Symphony that the handbook said to clean the filter but when I asked AS where it was, I was told there wasn't one.

I recently changed the shurflo on our 2003 Symbol so I know exactly where it is
The pump is beneath the removable floor in the cupboard beneath the oven.
The filter is connected directly to the pump on the inlet side. The filter itself is a 2 part affair that fit together with a bayonet type connection.
It is a bit tricky to get at and you may need to temporarily remove the back panel in the cupboard to make access better
