Marquis Preston Lancashire Your thoughts? Empty Marquis Preston Lancashire Your thoughts?

Post by Wogga383 Sun 17 Jun 2018, 9:22 am

Would anyone like to share their experiences with this dealer before I consider going further a field i.e. Cheshire smile!. Feedback on Marquis dealerships appears patchy some good some bad, very little on the Preston Branch.

We are looking to get our first AS MH and these are our local dealer. I have only experienced browsing MH and all seem s ok, if fact it can be actually difficult getting a salesman they all seem busy signing people up? It would help if I made an appointment though.

What is your experience on:

  • getting a good deal?
  • Starter pack
  • Handover
  • Warranty and after sales service

Regards

Bought our van from them, but that was in 2002.
Have you looked at Todds in Coote Lane Tardy Gate?

Our last van was bought from Marquis Preston and had many faults on receipt that should have been seen prior to our collection. We took it back but little was done out of a long list.    I had no confidence in their ability to correct so it went back to AS Service Centre who resolved everything including things we hadn’t noticed and we had no more problems with that van in the 8 years we had it.

It’s a shame that Todd’s are no longer AS dealers as they have forgotten more about ASvans than Marquis Preston will ever know  That’s my opinion.  This van we got from Spinney- completely different experience

Yes frequently to peruse their stock, but as Roli says they are no longer AS dealers unfortunately. I suspect that would of been because of Marquis being so close and there would only be one winner deciding dealerships, I can't see Todds wanting to lose the AS franchise.

0-2 so far not looking good, currently "googling' Spinney smile! .

And that is exactly how we felt about another Marquis dealer.

I know they are a large group and not all branches are the same but my new van wasn't bought from Marquis..

We too have bought from Todd’s in the past, can’t speak highly enough of them.

As for Marquis Preston, we approached them when buying our present van. They quoted us a totally unsatisfactory p/ex price, then pestered us for weeks. In the meantime we went to Moran’s in Ludlow, a far longer journey, but a good experience and that is where we bought. Just our personal experience.

Had more than our share of expected snagging problems with our new Nuevo than we anticipated. So far Preston have  given us the after sales service we would have expected. In fact one of our issues (a slight rippling in the inside of the rear shower compartment wall) is being referred back to AS workshop. I take the van back to Preston in the morning and they are arranging the transport to/from AS. (Still cheesed off that our planned trip next week has had to be put off)

Bought my Worcester new from Marquis Preston six years ago. They may have improved since then, but I am unlikely to go back to find out.

I bought a new Bolero from Marquis at Preston in 2012, as they beat all the other deals, including my local Brownhills, to the point where it was worth my while travelling over from the north east on a regular basis.

The service I received at the time was exactly as I expected and I have no complaints regarding the trade in of my tag axle Bessacarr, or the purchase and handover of the Bolero, which were excellent.

I can't really comment on their after sales or warranty work, as not long after I bought it from them, Marquis bought out my local Brownhills and transferred all responsibility across to Durham, which suited me.

I bought my first Motorhome from Marquis Preston six years ago and the standard of both my Part Ex Caravan and the after sales service were first class.

I have since enquired online to a couple of Motorhomes on there national website and on each occasion they have responded with a very tempting deal.

The salesman I dealt with was Steve Smith who is still there as I spoke to him a couple of weeks back.

I would use them again in the future if they had a Motorhome I was interested in (Autosleepers of course )

Thanks Eltel. I did get an email from them asking for a chat, I responded with a brief and got no response :-) I hadn't even mentioned finances.
