Handy fairford storage tips Empty Handy fairford storage tips

HJtime has come for us to start taking our awning. It will store under rear lounge seat with its bits and bobs. Moved bedding to above the cab area, it holds 2 pillows, fleecy mattress topper and duvet . Heaters, chairs, ecectirc pan under front seating area. Thought we’ve done well! Outdoor table and ramps in back will move under van when parked up.

Anyone have any tips on adding shelves to cupboards etc? Where do you store larger utensils, knives etc. Is your food or pans in overhead lockers?  Does anyone actually use the wardrobe as it as meant? We’ve got EHU cable, boots, wellies and hose etc in it

Interested to hear others storage issues/tips

We keep the EHU cables on the large door pockets with all the adapters.
Large items are in the underbed storage the end panels are fixed with velcro so we can access them from outside the van.
Large table is kept in the shower strapped to the wall, this leaves the overhead storage for the small table coats bags and books.
Food in the overhead lockers tins and drink cupboard next to fridge.

Sounds to me that you would have less of a problem if you left the kitchen sink at home!!  lol4

We don't have a problem with storage, and we don't have an awning either. Each to his own as always of course, but we go camping to leave all the clutter at home and live fairly simply.

Extra shelves in cupboards are easy. Decide what height you want them and cut two sheets of 6mm ply (or similar) to that height, and the interior depth of the cupboard. Fix them against each end wall with a bit of double sided carpet tape and having cut the shelf carefully to length it will sit on top of the supports. No screw holes in the van and carpet tape doesn't stick so hard that it will damage the "wood" surface if it has to be removed.
