Trident Winter Tips
Hi everyone.
I wondered if anyone has any Trident winter tips for our 2002 Trident.
We have returned from Scotland a few weeks ago and had a little wild camping at 4c temperatures.
Noted quite a bit of cold coming from the tailgate section of the van.
We have front winter covers, but wondered if anyone had used insulation to the back?
Also wondered if anyone had tried insulation to the sliding door or footwell. Though about a draft excluder?
PS we already know to drain the tanks for winter use. Should we leave the underneath taps open or shut?
We also have a good 4 season double sleeping bag and hot water bottles and we have propane on board.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Bob

Re: Trident Winter Tips
Hi. Used my Trident during winter months. The only draft I've ever noticed comes in through the (uncovered) fridge vents. Can't say been aware of any from tailgate/sliding door areas. Certainly need to drain tanks and I always leave taps open, I'm lucky as my van is kept under cover in a carport so don't need to take any additional precautions other than disconnect the battery (if I dont intend to take it out for a run) and put blocks under the wheels (to leave the parking brake off).

Thanks for the reply. I have the Trident manual and it states fitting the fridge covers at 10c and below, so I’ll fit them in the next few weeks when the weather is consistently below 10c.mikeandlizriley wrote:Hi.
