Re: Kingham, rear door seal paint
Hi Mel this is fairly common on newer vehicles and where soft solvent free paints are abraded by the movement of doors against the seal.
They are large doors and will vibrate at any speed when on the road. Possibly exacerbated in winter conditions when seals get coated with dust and grit etc. One possibility is applying clear see through plastic sheets designed for stone chip guard . Comes in sheets sticky on one side and forms a wear resistant surface to protect the paint below. Used on many cars around wheel arches where the body shape/ design attracts a constant bombarding by small stones and grit. Can be easily cut with scissors and applied where rubbing occurs. search on e bay or Amazon , better materials made by 3M group from experience.
