Hello - info about me
Hi I am Carrie, a young early sixties woman who has had a dream of owning a campervan for 23 years. I bought a new Symbol on 13th December in Durham. Since then I’ve been travelling around visiting family and friends in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Oxford and now i am in Norfolk. . I’ve been on hook-up most of the time at people’s homes or on sites. Occasionally wild camping on friends’ drives. Last night and tonight I’m wild camping in a village as I could not get access to hook-up. I’m planning to go to Saltaire and York at the end of this week, the dealership for warranty work early next week and then on to Jedburgh over the border on my way home to near Inverness by 18th Jan. I’ll be having my birthday on the road! So far I’ve done 700 miles!!!
I love my Symbol - she’s called Brea - and I have been a very happy Carrie. I’ve slept in my van every night as I find it so comfortable and it’s great to have my own space while travelling. I am a sociable and happy person. I joined the club because I would like to make new friends and seek occasional support/advice as I am new to this wonderful world of motorhoming. I’ve posted for the first time tonight as I have an issue of all batteries flat and I don’t know why. Posts are in heater blanket and battery voltage reading. I’ve also tried a new thread but not sure whether I have done that successfully! Not finding it so easy using a mobile!

What a wonderful introduction Carrie, sounds like you are having a great time! Putting us to shame! We bought our fairford , also in Durham in Nov and haven’t managed a decent trip out yet. So when you wild camp, in these freezing temps, do you use heating on the gas and I’d be interested to know if it uses up much .
Happy travels!

Re: Hello - info about me
Thank you all for such a lovely welcome!!!! :)
I’m a 50s girl chrisk! My birth name is longer, no one gets it right so I bacame Carrie which, for me is a much friendlier name...if you don’t include the film Carrie....!!!!!!
I’ve had a partial sort by Aa and Marquis Ipswich. Turns out it’s a fuse again. I was on hook-up last time. Common issue is tank heater... I’ve been given extra 20amp fuses in case it happens again. Hoping Marquis Durham will fully investigate and resolve issue next Monday. Going there on my way back home to the beautiful highlands of Scotland. :)

Carrie, newbie to the forum myself.....hope you get a permanent fix up at AS and that you continue to enjoy your new van...so glad to see someone (like us) getting out there in all seasons (we've just arrived home from New Year in Cotswolds, Bibury/Cirencester) and have managed just over 7k miles worth of touring in 2017...
Enjoy:smile!:

Re: Hello - info about me
Welcome Carrie to the forum. Hope you solve your battery problem. Like you I decided to take my MH out for a winter weekend spin, but wish I hadn't. A difficult reversing manoeuvre in the dark resulted in hitting a concrete post and now I have a costly bill to repair the damage. Its true, there are many experienced members on this forum who are capable of solving most, if not all, of our technical problems, but none to my knowledge capable of solving the problem of a careless driver.
