Nuevo electric step
I have a 2017 Nuevo ES and a problem with the electric step. There is a fault whereby the alarm is sounding but the step is fully retracted. It won’t extend on the button. Anybody know how to silence the alarm and if the step is extended how to retract it manually. Thanks

Re: Nuevo electric step
Its possibly stuck with road grime. Clean as much as you can, spray the mechanism with WD40 and while holding the button for a few seconds at a time, pull and push at the step to try and free it. If the buzzer stops without freeing the step who have either got it fully in or blown the fuse. Use of the foot may shock it into operation but you do so at your own risk.

Re: Nuevo electric step
There is a limit switch inside at the back of the step which opens when the step is fully retracted, effectively cutting current to the motor. This is the case whether the current is supplied from the in/out rocker switch or from the alarm circuit from the alternator.
If the alarm is continuous, this switch hasn't opened or the relay which directs the alternator current to the reverse side of the motor is faulty. In either case, the in/out switch will be ineffective.
1. Check that the step is in fact fully in, so that the switch should be open. If that fails.
2. If you can find the relay (I know nothing about location in a Nuevo) switch on and tap the relay case sharply with a screwdriver'
3. Try removing terminal 85 on the relay. It might at least allow you to stop the alarm.

Re: Nuevo electric step
We had step problem where it either wouldnt come all the way out or go all the way in. One of our learned members suggested I go into the reset mode on the Sargent Panel, find the step setting (in our case it was at 27) and increase it until the step retracted fully and came out fully bingo (at 30) worked fine

Re: Nuevo electric step
Welcome to the forum Colky57, I had a very similar problem and after a lot of fiddling/pushing and cleaning I eventually removed the step and found that the motor body had become slightly loose from its mountings such that it was not returning the step sufficiently to trip the microswitch.Colky57 wrote:I have a 2017 Nuevo ES and a problem with the electric step. In the meantime I replaced the step with a new one and will retain the old one as a spare.
I would have thought that you would be entitled to a replacement under warranty as your vehicle is relatively new? I would suggest you speak to the AS service centre if you do not get any satisfaction from your dealer.
I believe you will find that the particular fuse you are after is no.3 on the front of the EC500 PSU - it should reference it in your owners handbook.
Hope that helps.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the fold out steps have that facility - I think its only on the sliders!
HNY to you and yours.

Re: Nuevo electric step
Thanks for all the replies very helpful I think I have a problem with it not fully returning but silencing the alarm was the main problem as it’s on warranty it will go to the dealers but having this information will help so thanks again. Colin

It does work on the sliders.I changed the step setting on ours to get it to deploy fully every time.

Re: Nuevo electric step
Do you have a small mudflap between the rear wheel and the step? This I believe is too shield the step. I read somewhere that AS had missed a few of these off at the factory. If you haven't get onto your dealer/AS
