MWB and LWB Mercedes
Hi
I have noticed that some of the earlier AS Mercedes coachbuilt's were on a LWB chassis and are now a MWB with what seems a long overhang at the rear,Is this cost cutting by AS or are the newer vans lighter and do not need the heavier chassis?
Regards
Alan

Re: MWB and LWB Mercedes
Is that true? The 6.5m lengths, Bourton, are on MWB (3665mm), the longer ones , Burford & Malvern, are on LWB (4325mm).
If the longer ones were on MWB the overhang would exceed the legally permissible length behind the rear axle.
