Hi Trevor... Don't know what the Inca roof is like but I had the same concern with our Nuevo when we got it.. wasn't sure or not if it was safe so went up their very gingerly and found it was quite rigid. Best to stay away from roof lights and other fixtures as these will obviously be the weak points.. with a bit of luck another Icka owner will come on and can confirm for certain

Hi Trevor,
I have never been brave enough to stand on my Inca roof. But then again I am 6'4'' and 18 stone so I think my wariness is well founded.
When I do remember to clean it I use a step ladder and a long handled scrubber which seems to get to most parts. I also stick my head out of the Heki roof light and have a go that way just to keep life interesting!
Happy scrubbing.

Hi Trevor and CC
I'm abit heavy myself and wouldn't go up on the van roof, I have purchased a wheeled podium, it stands to one side of the van and I can climb up the steps to the top and clean the roof. As its on wheels I can move it around the van to access all areas., the wheels have locks, so I have no fear of falling from step ladders.

I wouldnt go on the roof of the Inka. The monocoques are ok but imo not the rest. There are walking area marked on those vans and the grp is much thicker. Can be done from long steps

Re: Autosleeper Inca EK Roof Cleaning
I asked this specific question of the A1 technician (Anthony ) when he carried out the habitation service the other week. He'd been up on the roof checking seals and the like, and in his opinion there should be no problem with "these" (I assume he meant Auto Sleeper coach builts), but he wouldn't recommend it on other makes that he serviced.
I always wash the roof by getting up there, and I'm no featherweight (just shy of 14 stone). I hate looking out the bedroom window onto a dirty motorhome roof

. I know Roger, and I have, and I've got the gel coat filler to deal with it. Bottom line for me is that whilst crazing is obviously not desireabe, it's also not the end of the world, and I can live with on the roof. When I find any up there it gets filled and finished to a reasonable standard, but crazing where it's visible (there's actually not much) I take a little more seriously. That said, it seems to be inevitable and unavoidable on coachbuilts...

I've just been up on our Nuevo roof - it's very solid. The luton is a different matter, and I stayed off it, but a long stretch got it clean.
Cheers Tom
